Mountain 1st Neighborhood                                                                     

The purpose of this project is to develop a comprehensive phased improvement plan for the Mountain/First Neighborhood which utilizes landscape design solutions to establish a coherent neighborhood identity and to addresses the neighborhood’s specific concerns regarding traffic mitigation, public area aesthetics, and pedestrian circulation.

 

 

Site Inventory & Analysis (3 weeks – estimated completion 06.10.04)

  • Gather relevant information about the physical, cultural, and political characteristics of Mountain/1st neighborhood
  • Analyze inventory information for potential design implications

  • Develop a succinct and comprehensive project goal

  • Present Site Inventory & Analysis and Goals & Objectives at the Mountain 1st Community meeting for resident review and input

 

Preliminary Master Plan Design (4 weeks – est. completion 07.08.04)

  • Develop a preliminary master plan and focus area designs which represent a practical and appropriate design solution to the stated goal

  • Present Preliminary Master Plan Design at the Mountain 1st Community meeting for resident review and input

 

Final Master Plan & Project Report (4 weeks – est. completion 08.05.04)

  • Revise Preliminary Plan based on community comments and peer review
  • Compile results of project work into a project report which is appropriate for use by the neighborhood to raise funds and community support
